Un-used since 1932 and complete with a Hopley Folding sidecar  SOLD SOLD SOLD

Wow what a find. Sleeping peacefully since 1932 in a barn and unseen and untouched by human hand.

Manufactured in 1923 this 550cc Model SD Triumph is completely original and unmolested.

It would be a shame to restore it to concours condition. Either leave as it is, for a most unique and  unusual museum exhibit, or if it was mine, I would clean it carefully, oil it all over, and gently recommission the mechanical parts for an MOT. Engine is free with good compression.

The  Hopley Folding Sidecars were popular with people who had to store the outfit in the back-yard with access through a narrow jitty [passage, ginnel, entry]. Take the sidecar body off and the frame and wheel fold flat against the bike for easy access. We are told that the Hopley is now very rare.

We have a current V5C and an old brown logbook that shows 3 owners to 1930 and one in 1974, all in the Gloucestershire area. The last tax disc from 1932 is still on the sidecar.

We even have the last riders waterproof leggings.
